The act of loving and being loved is good for your physical health as
well as your emotional and spiritual health, because it not only
boosts the immune system, but also the neurotransmitters in your brain
that are responsible for mood and good feelings of well-being.
Keep in mind that love and celebrating Valentine’s Day does not have
to be an event that is reserved just for lovers. The love you share
with yourself, your children, friends, nature, pets and the Universe
can be celebrated too.
Here’s a great page on my website that I wrote many years ago that
goes into more detail about this issue as well as a variety of unique
tips for cultivating love on a daily basis

Don’t forget that an important part of loving yourself is eating foods
that are good for you. So this Valentine’s day be sure to love your
body and don’t fill up on a bunch of sugar and chocolate. If you must
have a piece of chocolate, be sugar-free, preferably organic and keep
it to a mini um. Some other healthier choices include carob or fruit
and nuts. I find a bowl full of organic cherries draped with raw
organic almond butter to be a delicious treat for a holiday like
Valentine’s Day.
