Holistic Health Counseling
What can you expect with holistic health counseling?
There is very little knowledge or understanding in either the medical
field or the mental health field that many so called "mental health"
symptoms and "medical diseases" are really the result of something in
an individuals diet, environment or lack of proper nutrients.
Physical illness and psychological symptoms can be triggered by a
variety of dietary, physical or environmental sources.
Food allergy, sensitivity or intolerance, pesticides, common every day chemicals in your home, nutritional deficiencies,
imbalance of nutrients, Candida overgrowth, hormonal imbalances, poor diet and many more
greatly impact our mental health and physical health.
Many psychological and physical symptoms can be alleviated or improved
by making simple changes in the diet or environment and lifestyle.
Counseling with a holistic health approach looks at the body, mind and
spiritual elements and their interconnection. It examines the underlying causes of
the symptoms and encourages a variety of alternative health remedies.
There can not be good mental health by ignoring the physical or
spiritual health of the individual and vice versa.
Not all conditions, illnesses or diseases can be completely "healed", but
they can at least be improved drastically. We will, of
course, look for healing and seek relief where it exists, but complete
healing is a journey, that usually consists of time and set
backs.
Being healthy does not always mean the "absence" of disease or
illness. It means living and functioning as optimally as possible with your
condition. Finding harmony and balance in the midst of a storm.
We will employ self-care strategies and education that empower you to take control of
your own health care plan and be a partner with your health care provider.
