Holistic Health Organizations

The World Health Organization has estimated that between 65-80 percent of the world’s population rely on holistic health organizations for their health care.

Generally, holistic health organizations were put up to encourage health care practitioners and physicians to integrate holistic principles to health care delivery and to educate the public about these principles in order for them to better understand, evaluate, and make decisions about their health care.


The American Holistic Health Association or AHHA (pronounced ah-ha) is the world’s leading holistic health organization. This national resource center is an independent nonprofit educational association that assists individuals to locate resources in order for them to enhance their own well-being and health.


The American Holistic Medical Association is a membership organization for physicians who desire to practice a broader form of medicine which includes the holistic model. It supports and connects physicians through national and regional conferences as well as a variety of other informal means as they make the transition from traditional medicine to a more holistic approach.


The AHNA or American Holistic Nurses Association serves as the voice of holistic nursing. It is a bridge between traditional health practices and alternative health practices among nurses. AHNA is a nonprofit educational organization. Its membership is open to nurses and other people who are interested in holistic health care practices in the United States and across the globe. It supports the education of allied health practitioners, nurses, and the general public about issues related to health.


The AAHF or American Association of Health Freedom is an advocate of health care practitioners who practice nutritional and other complementary health approaches. They work to achieve medical freedom for those who wish to practice alternative medicine.


The mission of CNH or the Coalition of Natural Health is to protect the individual’s freedom of choice of natural health. This includes the consumer’s right to choose natural health options and the practitioner’s right to practice them. CNH also tries to educate legislators and consumers about the role of natural health methods that promote wellness.


The AADP or the American Association of Drugless Practitioners is a certification and accreditation board that is dedicated to promoting a more professional image and prestige among practitioners of traditional as well as non-traditional methodologies and therapies. They have free patient referrals, a membership listing that is nationally published, laboratories that are licensed for non-invasive tests, professional affiliations, consultations, and assistance for state board licensing.


ASAT, or also known as the American Society of Alternative Therapists, is a nonprofit association of certified ASAT C.O.R.E. Counselors. C.O.R.E., or Conscious, Ownership, Retrieval/Release and Engage, is a unique approach in facilitating their clients’ needs. C.O.R.E. counseling helps their clients to be conscious of the cause of the problems, take ownership of the problem, retrieve the means to find the solution, release the root cause of the problem, and finally engage in activities to have an abundant, elegant, and healthy future.

These are just a few of the holistic health organizations that advocate holistic health, natural health, integrative or alternative medicine. There is a variety of them scattered throughout the globe to help you with your health and well-being.
